Prenatal Consultation Specialist
Prenatal Pediatric Consultation in Las Vegas & Henderson, NV
Choosing your baby’s pediatrician is one of the most important decisions you’ll make before your child is born. At Nevada Pediatric Specialists, we offer prenatal consultations for expectant parents — a dedicated visit, typically in the third trimester, to meet your provider, tour the office, and get your questions answered before the whirlwind of those first newborn days.
Why Schedule a Prenatal Visit?
The first days with a new baby are overwhelming in the best possible way. When a medical question comes up at 2 a.m. on day three, knowing your pediatrician — having already met them, already trusting them — makes a real difference. A prenatal visit also ensures we have your baby on our schedule from day one so the newborn visit happens on time.
Prenatal consultations are especially valuable for parents expecting multiples, parents whose newborn will have a known medical condition, first-time parents with a lot of questions, and families transferring care from out of state. If you’re planning a circumcision, the prenatal visit is a great time to discuss timing, technique, and what to expect.
What We Cover at a Prenatal Consultation
- Introduction to our practice, providers, and office locations

- The first well-child visit — when it happens and what it includes
- Breastfeeding vs. formula — our approach and available support
- Circumcision — what to expect and post-procedure care
- Safe sleep guidelines (AAP)
- Newborn screening — what the hospital does and what we follow up on
- Vaccination schedule overview — what’s coming and when
- How to reach us after hours
- Your specific questions and concerns
When to Schedule
We recommend scheduling your prenatal consultation in the third trimester — between 28 and 36 weeks. This gives you time to meet us, ask questions, and feel settled before delivery. Call 702-457-5437 to schedule, and let us know your estimated due date so we can plan accordingly.
After Your Baby Arrives
Once your baby is born, call us within 24 to 48 hours of hospital discharge to schedule the first newborn visit. The AAP recommends this visit take place within 3 to 5 days of birth to check weight, assess feeding, screen for jaundice, and give new parents a chance to ask all the questions that came up overnight.
