Immunizations Specialist
Pediatric Immunizations in Las Vegas & Henderson, NV
Vaccines are one of the most powerful tools we have to protect your child’s health and the health of the community. At Nevada Pediatric Specialists, we administer the full American Academy of Pediatrics immunization schedule for children from birth through adolescence, with no alternative or delayed schedules offered.
Why We Follow the AAP Immunization Schedule
The AAP schedule is developed by some of the world’s most respected experts in infectious disease, immunology, and child health. Each vaccine is added to the schedule only after extensive research confirms its safety and efficacy. The timing of each dose is designed to protect children at the ages when they’re most vulnerable.
If you have questions about a specific vaccine, we welcome that conversation. Our providers take the time to share the science and address concerns — and we do that while being honest about our position: the AAP schedule is the gold standard of pediatric disease prevention.
Vaccines We Administer
- Hepatitis B (HepB) — beginning at birth
- DTaP — diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis
- Hib — Haemophilus influenzae type b
- IPV — inactivated poliovirus
- PCV15/PCV20 — pneumococcal conjugate
- RV — rotavirus
- MMR — measles, mumps, rubella
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- HepA — hepatitis A
- HPV — human papillomavirus (ages 9–12 recommended; discuss timing with your provider at your child’s well-child visit)
- Meningococcal vaccines (MenACWY, MenB)
- COVID-19 vaccine
- Annual influenza (flu) vaccine — recommended every year from age 6 months
- Tdap booster — for adolescents and as part of the teen vaccine series
Catch-Up Immunizations
If your child missed vaccines due to illness, insurance gaps, or changing pediatricians, we can help get them back on track. Our providers will review your child’s immunization history and administer catch-up doses according to AAP and CDC guidance. Walk-in availability makes catch-up scheduling easy.
Vaccines at Well-Child Visits
Most routine immunizations are administered at scheduled well-child visits. Our providers review what’s due at each visit and discuss any new vaccines added to the schedule. You’ll receive a record of each vaccine given, including lot numbers, for your files.
Flu Shots — Fall and Winter
We offer annual influenza vaccines for all patients 6 months and older. Flu shots are available by appointment, at well-child visits, and during walk-in clinic hours. We recommend flu vaccination every year, ideally before the end of October.
