Resources for Child Healthcare in Henderson & Las Vegas, NV

Here at Nevada Pediatric Specialists, we have been committed to child safety providing your child with high equality medical care, both when they are sick and when they are well. We have strived to develop trusting relationships between not only us and our patients but also between children and their parents.

Below, you will find links concerning vaccines and immunizations, as well as tips for child safety.

It is the policy of this office not to accept or retain patients that refuse to vaccinate their children. We also do not participate in “alternate vaccination schedules.” This is done to ensure your child’s health and safety.

Vaccine studies have consistently shown the safety and efficacy of vaccines. Healthychildren.org is a reputable website run by the American Academy of Pediatrics that compiles vaccine studies and their conclusions, and presents them in an easily readable manner.

The overwhelming consensus from these studies is that vaccines are safe and effective in preventing disease. Any time a new vaccine is developed, it falls under heavy scrutiny to ensure effectiveness and safety.

The American Academy of Pediatrics works closely with the Center For Disease Control, another reputable source about disease prevention, to ensure that the information you receive is correct. This year, both the AAP and the CDC recommend annual immunization from the flu in order to protect your child’s health.

Vaccinations are usually conducted as part of the Well Child visit and are extremely safe. The schedule which the immunizations are administered is constantly reviewed to produce the best results. The CDC has released the current vaccine schedule as of 2018 for review.

HealthyChildren.org has compiled easy safety and prevention tips to help you keep your child safe at home or abroad. If you own a residential pool, you can view the suggestions concerning safety barrier guidelines put forth by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

We hope that you have found the above information beneficial and useful. Contact us today if you have any questions about child’ healthcare in Las Vegas or would like to schedule an appointment.
